KKC v1.1 Patch Notes


Howdy, pardners!


A new update for Kero Kero Cowboy has released! Here's the patch notes:

New Features:

  • Collecting every star coin in the game now displays a special icon for that file on the save file select screen.

Bug Fixes:

  • Restored collision to a mine cart rail in level 2-2, making the 1up in that level actually obtainable.
  • Fixed incorrect art on a platform in level 4-4 that had ice physics but did not have the ice ground tiles applied.
  • Fixed an incorrect palette applied to one of the final boss' sprites.
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally made a cactus enemy in level 3-4 despawn, causing the player to be unable to progress in the level.
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused water physics to trigger outside of water (aka the "flying frog" bug).
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused dropped inputs while swimming up or down.
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally displayed the incorrect level on the save file select screen (it should now always display the last level you unlocked, with star levels taking priority over boss levels).
  • Fixed a bug that caused all sprites to be invisible if the player pauses immediately before dying in a pit (until the player pauses & unpauses again).

It's also worth noting that since this is an entirely different ROM from the previous release, save files from v1.0 are unfortunately incompatible with this new release. Regardless, I hope you give this new patch a try!
